Opportunity in Kirkuk, Iraq
Hello!I am Larry Cox, the Senior Field Engineer for the Frasca FTD program here at Kirkuk Regional Air Base, Iraq. The nine trainers we maintain, are a mix of fixed and rotary Frasca FTD’s, which are very reliable and dependable. We currently have a vacancy, for a position as a Field Engineer, Professional in support of these FTD’s. This program is in direct support of U.S. forces supervising the rebuilding and training/retraining of the Iraqi Air Force at Kirkuk Regional Air Base, in Iraq. Some of the highlights regarding this position are;
• The job is located on FOB Warrior (KRAB), a military installation. Security is provided by U.S. Army.
• No. we don't get shelled or mortared on a regular basis, instances are rare.
• Transportation in country is provided by the US military. Personal protection (Helmet/Vest) issued by the military is required to travel.
• We work alongside U.S. military and other contractors to provide training to Iraqi Air Force flight cadets.
• Must be medically fit to deploy and bring a stocked supply of medications, if needed.
• Must attend CRC at Ft. Benning, Georgia for equipment issue prior to theater entry
• A security clearance is recommended and preferred, but not required.
• Class A DSN lines available to call home on regular basis
• Cell phone service is available.
• You don't need to be able to speak Arabic.
• Women can apply.
• Meals are provided at military dining facility.
• Lodging is provided by US military
• Satellite Internet is provided. Skype/video messaging is quite common.
• The installation has AAFES facilities. We have access to BX/PX, Gift shops, food court (Taco Bell, Burger King, and Pizza Hut), Library, MWR facilities/activities.
• Self-service laundry and/or Laundry drop-off service is available.
• Company vehicle provided
• Salary is competitive that includes Hazardous Duty pay and Foreign Allowance pay on top of a base salary.

Humm...
Not 100 0/0 as to why, so I'd only be guessing if I replied with an answer. I am sure, an applicant to be considered, must apply thru the web site or in some cases reapply. But, your right, it would be handy if we could reapproach prior applicants, at least to let them know a new position has opened. Just one of the reasons this site is so valuable to techs world wide.
