Simulator Technician III - The Field Service Representative (FSR) will be responsible for maintaining the simulator and providing on-site support to the customer.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Perform corrective maintenance as required to maintain a minimum simulator availability of 98%.
Perform scheduled preventive maintenance per the appropriate procedures for a particular training device.
Provide technical assistance in identifying, evaluating, and developing processes to improve reliability and maintainability of the training devices.
Perform operational daily tests (preflight) as required on the flight training devices.
Support Instructors and crews in operation of training devices.
Applies comprehensive technical knowledge to solve complex problems, those typically solved by properly interpreting maintenance manuals or similar documents.
Capable of interpreting and working with computer systems utilizing various operating systems.
Maintains required documentation of maintenance activities.
Monitors and tracks the repair status of inoperative equipment and documents maintenance activities utilizing the logistics management data base system.
Diagnoses malfunctions of computers and associated equipment and performs operability/readiness tests and repair.
Performs systems interface/fault isolation.
Applies fundamental troubleshooting procedures in the maintenance of interfaces and peripheral equipment used with computers.
Interprets mechanical, electrical, schematics, and system drawings for troubleshooting and diagnosis.
Provides networking and information systems support on training devices and networks.
Perform facility/housekeeping in areas not covered by janitorial services contract as required to maintain a safe and clean work environment.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Six (6) years total experience related to operational maintenance and repair of complex technical equipment, electrical and mechanical components and computer systems.
Must have strong trouble shooting, maintenance and repair skills used in daily operation and maintenance tasks associated with complex computer systems, electrical circuits and mechanical assemblies.
Must be proficient in understanding and working with complex electrical schematics, diagrams and mechanical assembly drawings.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, MS Windows and Linux computer operating systems operations for day to day job responsibilities.
Must be able to work independently, or in a team, with minimal supervision.
Must be able to work overtime as required.
Must be willing to work any shift or day of the week as required.
Must be eligible for a DoD Personal Secret Security Clearance

Preferred Skills
Highly desired: three years’ experience in maintaining simulator training devices as a field service / technician in a similar or comparable device
Understanding of military protocols and customs is desired.

Security Responsibilities

Must comply with all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures. Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form. Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know. Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval. All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.

Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Must be able to move equipment and materials weighing up to 50lbs to support computer system maintenance
Must be able to operate hand tools and test equipment associated with repair and maintenance of computer systems and support equipment
