I just caught this little snippet from an Alteon job advert, it brought a wry smile to my face.. Well us old farts are ruled out - what, with bad backs, midriff, aching joints, shot hearing from all the noise and poorer eyesight - I guess were done for mecry:

While performing their duties, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must be able to climb a ladder on the motion base superstructure to maintain or replace visual components (visual displays, etc.). The employee must also work in tight quarters (control columns, centre pedestals). The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. sounds to me like the lawyers are trying to find a way around asking the age, disability and/or physical attributes of prospective employees!! you know, those questions they can't ask during application and interview.
the funny part is, it sounds like exactly what we do 8 hours a day, every day we work, and unless you've never worked as a sim tech before, we would already know this stuff. And as a soon-to-be old fart, this kind of stuff does seem to be getting less fun!!!

A sim tech's job description has always been and will always be "We the willing, led by the unknowing (All Knowing for the PC) have done so much for so long with so little we are now qualified to do anything with nothing."
