SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- Shares of Continental Airlines moved solidly higher Monday after announcing its flight attendants appear to have ratified a new four-year contract, the final labor deal for the company.
A certified vote tally of the local votes is expected on Jan. 31, Continental said. Members of the union voted Jan. 18 through Jan. 29.
The new labor agreement maintains wage rates and raises except for an increase in the top rate to $50 an hour. Protective measures for attendants' pensions and a stock option plan, among other points, are also part of the new contract.
A couple of other article mentioned that their work rules improved under this new contract also.
