What is the turn-around time for CAE? I put in for one of the tech II positions in Orlando a couple of weeks ago, and still haven't heard back from them.

...this is a good question. I have also sent in some information to CAE a few weeks ago and have not received a reply, either. Does CAE consider techs with experience from other training companies, or do they prefer to hire techs that are new to simulation?
As far as "Unemployed Sim Techs" in North America, I'll bet there are thousands.....
:faintt:
....and does anyone ever post a "success story" , that is, in this case, actually finding a job! It would be nice to know :help:

I had my telephone interveiw for Orlando. This is Simuflight out of Dallas. Interveiw went well. They want the chosen people there on sight by April 4th. I heard RFT is about June.

So does this mean CAE has called or set up interviews with every one already? Do the jobs that are posted to the CAE website mean that those postings were already posted internally and that they are now looking for qualified people from out side the company? Is there any one working at CAE Simuflite that could give us their 2 cents worth?

Postings are usually internal and after 3-5 days external. I understand that some offers have been made, some people have accepted, others haven't accepted nor declined. CAE would like to have most everyone in place by mid-March. I heard they are targeting April 4 as a start date. With so many positions to fill I'd expect the postings to stay up until after 4 April.

One of my cohorts will be there 2 April for his interview. Hate to see him go-but this place is dying a LLLOOONNNGGG SSSLLLOOOWWW DDDEEEAAATTTHHH!!! And more power to all the ones talking with Flt Safety and L3 over at Flt School XXI. Hope you get the job. This site on Fort Rucker has a new rumour every single day about what is getting shutdown and disassembled, etc. Another co-worker just informed me that an Army individual told him tonight that it goes away this coming Oct. Last we had previously heard was Oct. 2006. :faintt:

When you say "it" may being going away in October, what exactly is "it"? Thanks for clarifying.

Egyptian

And, who is the contractor that may be going away? Or will they be moving sims to other locations? If this is the Apache program, there are rumors all over the place, especially about the few remaining A models. :feedback:

Well, I inquired about them too. So, anyway, Guest, how about setting up a "Name" for yourself? Don't be shy....Leave a message.....bye bye

CAE flew me down to Dallas today to interview for a Tech position in Orlando. They actually have positions available in Denver, Dallas, and Orlando. The interview went well. They say thay haven't made any offers yet but are looking at late April, early May to get the site up and running.

"IT" likely refers to some of the simulators at Rucker. Especially the UH-1 simulators. But it is just rumors and we all know on military contracts how rumors get going but sometimes have no merit. :cruch:

Aw, come on Jerry! When our customers are the ones telling us that, then that makes it more legit. :box2:

The Army SFC here informed us the cutback begins December 2006.
Have lost two folks to L-3 over at Flight School XXI this very week. Another one interviewed this past weekend with CAE in Orlando, and will hear back within 7 days( yes or a no). :box2:

It is just wait and see for December 2006.

With all of the people jumping to L3 and Orlando, it ought to open up some new jobs.

Watch and see....

I think that it is a possibility of pulau not serious looking to fill its 3 to 4 tech positions and the hyd positon it now has open. They could be attempting to downsize with people leaving rather having to lay off when the 2B24 goes away.

They are having to write the job description over so they can hire an individual off the street-the present description has kept anyone from getting the position due to lack of experience as it is currently written. Had an individual who had put in for the hyd. position that works here-BUT, it kept him from getting it-so now he has interviewed and is waiting for a call(or not)
from another company in Florida. :att:
