A little more than a month ago, I sent CAE Tampa my resume. After a couple weeks, I still had not received any kind of acknowledgement from them.
So, I sent another email inquiring about the status of my resume. Again, Nothing from them whatsoever. NOT a "Thanks but no Thanks", "... still under review.", or even a " Kiss my @<hidden>$$".
Whats up with that :huh4:

I sent in my resume about a week ago for one of the positions in Orlando. I haven't received a response, either. I have five years of experience on their equipment.:att:

Just saw in ATW online, that CAE is to layoff some 450 people. Although this is in the manufacturing activities, but who's to say the personal getting laid off wont fill some of the other open positions.
Take a look here: http://www.atwonline.com/indexfull.cfm?newsid=4990&CMP=NLC-dailynewsletter

CAE Tampa is part of Military Simulation and Training (MS&T). It is only involved with U.S. Mil products. It was downsized about two years ago when all hardware design and manufacturing operations were relocated to Montreal. MS&T Tampa landed several contracts in recent months and the forecast ahead looks promising. Tampa is hiring in many departments and hence it has been swamped with resumes; it is difficult but I?d be patient.
Unfortunately the commercial simulation market isn't recovering as steadily as was hoped. CAE Montreal is downsizing because they are reorganizing. Middle management has been hit hard from what I've heard. About 10% of their Montreal employees are being let go. I?ve read some explanations as to why and if you search the net you?ll find many opinions.
I?ve seen the postings for the Orlando positions. I think that falls under CAE SimuFlight. Perhaps Tampa?s HR is responsible, administratively, for the processing of these resumes.

Just a heads up. I work for CAE in Minneapolis, MN. I believe that the job openings for CAE in Orlando, FL are contracting for Jet Blue. If this is the case. Jet Blue is still in the process of being built in Orlando and thus CAE was a little premature in posting the job openings. They will eventually be getting back to people about the resume's when the building is finished.

The building is finished and 4 sims are installed (A320s), two more EMB 190s in Jun/Jul timeframe. They are finishing up the front office area's now. The techs start May 2nd. Jet Blue contracted CAE too do the maintenance on the devices, 6 sims, 6 FTDs and a Cabin/Evac trainer. I was one of the lucky ones that didn't get hired. Seems CAE hired a group a non CAE experienced techs.

I am pretty sure that CAE maintains an Air Force C-130 sim in Minneapolis.

I believe it's maintained by Lockheed-Martin, not CAE.
CAE does maintain C-130's in the Little Rock area.

And Biloxi, MS. They almost had me hired several years ago. I think it is a J model C130 there

Yeah,it's a J model.
And Yes CAE does maintain the sims at LR. LM is the primary and CAE is a sub.

..... Seems CAE hired a group a non CAE experienced techs.
5 positions were filled by relocated CAE employees. The manager, Group Leader, and one technician transferd from CAE SimuFlite, one Senior Engineer transfered from Montreal, and one Senior Technician transferd from Denver. The rest of the team is being hired locally.

Don't be too stressed over the lack of response, it's more or less policy for the CAE USA HR in Tampa not to acknowledge resumes submitted for job openings. If you fulfill a need, they will contact you, eventually.

CAE Tampa did not do the hiring process, CAE Dallas did. Also, they hired all non CAE expierenced techs, a group of nimrods I hear. Better off they didn't hire you, unless your a nimrod.

Still haven't heard from the CAE employee in Minneapolis area. Is he/she not brave enough to tell where they are working at?? I thought simtechs had more "b...s" than that. :lookaroun

It's true that Tampa HR did not do the hiring for Orlando. Any resumes received would have been passed on to CAE Simuflite. One tech I know interviewed for an Orlando position and was offered a Dallas post. He passed on to us that Simuflite had openings in Orlando, Dallas and Denver facilities.

Of all the things I'd like to say about the great team of CAE experienced techs and management in Orlando , Ill just cut to the chase and call you the bitter bag of shit that wasn't offered a position because "you" were not qualified. Because it took no more effort than a few clicks of the mouse I couldn't help but notice all of your other posts are bitter and negative. Thank god you were not offered a position and it's obvious why you weren?t. Sheesh. By the way because of people like you this will be the last time I log into or leave a comment to simtechonline.com, so you'll be wasting your time when you respond with more of your impish bitter bull shit.

good luck at CAE in Orlando, sounds like you got the job. too bad about the other "job" comming, though. Nobody here took a job 'cause we know JBU, (do you jetblue?)and we know CAE USA, or don't you remember Reflectone?
As for the "I'm not going to play here anymore" if you skin is that thin, your in for trouble with JBU pilots, they'll eat you alive.
PS. say hi to Fran Stull and the other good guys in flight training for me. Tell him I said "not ot "F" up the landing!!!
Also, I've noticed that you get alot more respect here if you don't use guest when you Flame mail.

I'm not bitter, I just feel sorry for Jetblue. They hire a contractor too maintain their sims, but the contractor hires techs with zero or very litle CAE experience. I happy where I'm at, why change jobs and work with a group of :cuss: .
Fast Eddie, I wear the iron glove and shove it up the arse of techs too slow to get out of my way. But I do use the new K-Y with warming action.
Guest, If you can't hang, go else where. If I'm too harse for ya, maybe I need to put my glove on and give you a treatment.

I was under the understanding that jet Blue had the last say in the hiring even though CAE has the maint contract, because they wanted to absorb the techs after the contract was up. I may be wrong, won?t be the first time, but no matter what the jet Blue guys are a nice bunch for the most part. If you are going to work there get ready for ?I need a reload?. That is usually the first words out of the mouths of the instructors when there isn?t even a problem with the sim.

Phister,
You obviously DON"T know who they hired. There are guys there with more experience than me. I know some of them. But I'm new to this....

Not sure what planet Phister is from, but in a way I sorta agree (not totally), I know 4 of the techs that went there. Hell one showed up 4 hours late for his interview and only lived 45 minutes away.
Oh by the way Phister, I take it dry... :D :bootyshak
