Flight Simulator Technician

Responsibilities:
Carry out all preventive and corrective maintenance actions, as detailed in the CAE quality documents, to achieve required availability and reliability on one or more flight training devices.
Will be part of a dynamic team of technical staff that will be accountable to meet a pre defined set of technical measurement criteria for simulator performance (reporting metrics), ex down time, lost time, customer reliability etc.
Be prepared to work rotating shifts and occasional weekends.
Analyses technical data, for example, QTGs (Qualification Test Guide) to meet regulatory compliance.
Brief and debrief customers in a professional manner on a regular basis. May also be required to answer technical questions to airline customers.
May be required to perform light administrative duties such as arranging hotel accommodations for customers or helping customers with schedule conflicts.
Ensure that all technical information in the organization is propagated to co workers.
May need to interface with subject matter experts in Montreal Canada to help resolve open issues on the training devices.
Will be required to debug and troubleshoot both hardware and software problems originating in both the flight training devices or the facility.
Will be required to debug and troubleshoot problems spanning a wide range of technologies, including but not limited to: hydraulic systems, visual systems, and avionics systems.

Qualifications - Required:
Technical College Diploma in electronics or aviation; or at least 2 years related experience.
Knowledge of the English language, both spoken and written.
Customer oriented.
Basic understanding of aircraft terminology or simulation devices.
Basic understanding of aviation training business an asset.
Able to interpret schematics and other technical documents pertaining to aviation.
Basic computer skills with knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.
Posses? basic troubleshooting skills as well as having knowledge of how to use electronic test equipment.
Basic knowledge of at least one of the following operating systems; Unix, Lynux; WindowsNT ; AIX.
Basic knowledge of software languages C and FORTRAN.
Basic knowledge of hydraulic systems.
Basic knowledge of avionics systems.
Basic knowledge of simulator visual systems.
Basic knowledge of computer networking.
Basic knowledge of Malaysian DCA (Dept of Civil Aviation) regulations as they pertain to flight training devices would be considered an asset.
