As there have been very few, if any? posts from this area of the world, is there anyone who can enlighten me on terms and working conditions and what one can expect working in KL? What is the salary range should one expect? Is the salary set against the dollar or local curency?

Thanks in advance

I have been to KL, at the MAS facility. For the most part what I seen of KL it was very nice all but the smoke. As you may or may not know each year that have a huge problem with smoke coming from I believe burning pett moss. The one time that I was there the smoke was very bad you could not stay outside for more then a hour before you started to feel bad. Other then that small problem KL looked like a very nice place.

CAE is running a center for Air Asia and then have a MST B737-300 there which CAE is paying a contractor to maintain from what I under stand CAE will be moving a A319 or A320 there in the near furture. This center also from what I understand is being running from the CAE (simuflite) center in Dallas and you can references other posted about that center to see the feelings of the managment there.

I have been trying to get this position for some time with no luck I heard that it was offered to a CAE employee in Orlando but he turned it down and now I hear that CAE plans on stealing people from MAS to work at they center, I feel that is a pretty poor plan. Anyway I also hear that Air Asia is very unhappy with the maintenance at the center I understand that the guy running the shop has only worked on CPT never a "real" simulator.

I still am trying for this position but if someone gets it I would love to hear about it.

Thanks.

Thanks for that.

You say you have been trying for this post for some time? Is this due to the lack of response from CAE? Is this usual in your experience? How long do they normally take to get back to you?

You also say that CAE are using a contractor to maintain this sim, any idea whom?

Cheers

CAE airbus sims are the same for the entire A320 family, ie; one sim works for all A318, A319&Corp Jet., A320,321.
Yes, in the experiences many of my fellow simtechs have had, CAE does not respond well to e-mail or paper resume's. keep trying, though, perseverance pays off. good luck to you both.

Pioneer and anyone else interested in going there - the position of site boss was filled by one of CAE's top tech's (out of Orlando). He's going to be a very busy dude. Stay persistent and positive. The hiring process happens when the proper stars align, and not until.
