A vacancy has arisen within Alteon European Operations for a Senior Simulator Technician at our London Gatwick facility.

The main purpose of this position is to maintain Training Devices to regulatory and company standards, ensuring that Devices are ready for training and Training Centre customers are provided with professional technical support.

The Senior Simulator Technician will:


Deputise for the Lead Simulator Technician on preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and corrective maintenance activities on training devices
Identify development tasks, scope work, create and propose a plan to be delivered
Interface with external Manufacturers, Suppliers, Customers and Regulatory authorities
Provide total customer support service, that can include accompanying customers through instructor station training and during dry training operations
Performs all essential duties of a Simulator Technician, as and when required, this includes installing modifications and upgrades, diagnosing and correcting discrepancies, calibrating and aligning systems and configuring hardware and software systems.

The ability to coach people to attain the necessary knowledge, skills, performance and experience on the tools and processes with which they work.



Experience & Education:


Advanced training in the skills, disciplines or processes used.
Proven professional and technical expertise along with the thorough knowledge of simulator and aircraft systems, and able to demonstrate technical and functional skills working on a simulator, enabling effective decision-making.
A minimum of 5 years experience with military or commercial simulators.
Higher National Diploma/Certificate (HND/HNC) relevant academic degree or other recognised qualifications is essential.
Knowledge of Thales, CAE, FSI devices.
Knowledge of JAA regulations would be advantageous.
