I just installed a little script that will rotate banners on the top of the page. The banner is set up for a 500x120 image... I hope that it doesn't distort the forum page for those of you running on lower screen resolutions, I tried to space it for a minimum of 800x600.

Any company or person that has donated may submit their business ad to me & I'll place it on the header of this forum. If you don't have the means for making one I could whip one out for ya.

This is a new concept and I'm not even sure if it'll work. I've been pounding on the keyboard here for about 12 hours, and at least as many beers, but it looks okay so far on my end.

I'll throw out a few simple rules for the banner ads:
1. Nothing political
2. No questionable or illegal stuff
3. Nothing that would offend any other member

Email me for further details... and anyone who has already donated is welcome to have ether business site displayed. Right now it's just an image... I don't have it set up for an actual clickable link yet (it's a java based script) but I'll work on that after I get some sleep.

UPDATE:
(now that I'm awake)

The banner ads are now linkable... this means that whenever the ad that you want is displayed it can be clicked on and your website should open up in a new window.

The image format can be pretty much anything, bmp, gif, jpeg, jpg, though I do want to keep the image size under 50kb, so a gif or jpg file is the best option. The image length and height can be varied, but cannot exceed 120 pixels high nor can it be wider than 550 pixels. Again, if you don't have the resources to resize or put together a banner, I can do it for you as time permits.

This is not a "pay-per-click" banner system, this is just a java script that displays banners (images) in a random sequence. Your one-time donation is all it takes.

I can also place any community service announcements (such as when there were a few simtechs that lost their homes in the Katrina disaster). Just email me whet you want the banner to say & I'll take care of it.
