Mr. Fitzpatrick did say that he is not finished, yet. And he need not convene a new one if he wishes to pursue other charges related to his original mandate. He can present to sitting grand jury.

I don't think this story is over yet, especially if another target decides to sing, or face the prospect of prison time.

Personal speculation.

I think Ari Fleischer is heavily involved in this whole mess. He quit right after it happened.

I think, either he saw something he didn't like and bailed, or
He quit because he saw things getting too hot (guilty of a crime), or
He quit (or was fired) to protect those senior to him.

It was too coincidental him leaving right at that time.

You don't just quit a position at the White House "to persue other interests".
