Just been to an area of the country where they were leading the country on pay a few years back. (Southern OHIO) Most of Industry has moved. Now people are driving up to 100 miles a day one way to get a 10 to 15 dollar an hour job. Walley World is the best job market around. If a single job opens up within their vacinity, the company will be swampted with job applicants. a new house that used to go for 250 k or more is now going for 100 to 150 k and is on the market for ever. Retirement funds are gone and dreams of retirement are gone with alot of the people. Be carefull on what you wish for and strike over.

How right you are. In early 1989 I walked the picket line for several months before coming to my senses. I was a chump but got a real job and retired 5 years ago. Housing! I bought an empty lot next to me a couple years back for $2,100 and have been getting offered once a week for $13,500 and going up. Housing in my area has gone up 5 or 10 times in price. It's crazy. Glad I own my home and not looking.
