Andy:

How about a thread where people could post there resumes, in a password protected bank. Maybe they e-mail resumes to you, you post then in the bank and then when companies are looking to hire they can ask you for the username and password. I know a lot of sim techs are always looking for greener pastures but would not like to post on an open board ( afraid of feedback from the company they currently work for ) . Any other simtechs out there have any other suggestions or opinions on a resume bank. Andy, Let me know as I will be the first one to send you my resume. Thanks

First you should ask Andy if he has time to deal with something like this.

Isn't this under suggestions to improve simtech online, All I did was suggest what I thought would be an "improvement" I believe that was what Andy was asking. If he likes "suggestions" he will implement them, if not they will not be implemented.

How about locking job posting and resume reply threads.

I hate to see potential employers (workers) getting flamed.

Eventually word will get out, "Don't post your jobs on Simtech".

I would hate to see this site no longer a resource for jobs, but I think that is exactly what will happen if it isn't stopped.

I'm not suggesting sensoring the word of the posters. They should be allowed to say what they want, but in a different category, not under jobs.

2 cents

Good point guest. Also, I would like to see the older job postings removed. If a job is posted more than 30 days, remove it.

Hi - sorry about the delay in answering but there were matters that kept me away from the board for a few days.

I know that I can create a forum that is passworded, but I don't know if individual posts can each be set to use a password. I'll have to do some digging to see if that can be done or not.

I have also tossed around the idea of deleting old job posts for quite a few years now, and I even tried it on the old site. But it seems to work out better for someone researching out a company when they can see a history of positions that became available. If a company seems to always be hiring and they only staff a few techs, it's a good indication that there's something wrong if they can't seem to hang on to people for very long.

Besides, I'm lazy... and it's easier to just let them pile up!
