There was a lady sim tech who worked for Logicon on the B-52 ARPTT. She replaced me when I went to Logicon's San Diego plant in '82 or '83. I believe she was hired as my on-site replacement. I liked her even though she was somewhat rough on the edges. She committed suicide in perhaps late '83 or '84. I heard about it via the grapevine. Was her name Sherry? Can't remember her name for sure. I think about her every now and then and I'm not sure why. Anyone remember her or know anything more about her story?

I went to work at Castle in late '85 with the contractor on the WST's. Sherry (Ayers?) was already working there at that time but left soon after for another contractor position on base, not sure what it was. Anyway, she ended up marrying, I believe, a dentist. What I heard from that point on was that things didn't go well for her, marriage problems, lost her job...then did commit suicide. I believe it was closer to '89 or '90 though...not exactly sure.

I met Sherrie Ayers at Grand Forks AFB, N. Dak. in 1983. She was in the air force at the time. She got out of the service in Grand Forks and moved to the Castle area. She married a guy named Pete (not a dentist), the son of a real estate agent developer. He had two kids by a previous marriage. The marriage did go bad for various reasons. She was going to file for divorce and leave. We got the word that she commited suicide. It was the loss of a very good person.

Thanks for the replies. I didn't know her well since she was my replacement on the ARPTT but talked with her on several site visits after moving to the San Diego plant in Sorrento Valley. I did like her, enjoyed visits and still think of her now and then. Hope she's in simulator heaven.

I remember Dave Curdie as well. Seems he left Logicon to work for AAI at Whidbey Island, WA. (site manager?) He came back on several occasions and would stop by to chat. Have no idea where he is now.

Yeah, Dave Curdie was at Castle as well when I got there. He was the program manager there, Frank Shipman was site manager. Dave was there for a few years and then moved on to the COFT/SIMNET (tank simulators) program at Ft. Knox, Ky. That was the last place I knew him to be and that was over 10 years ago now. Someone told he wanted to retire in that area but don't know if he did or not.
All this Castle talk is making me feel old....LOL.

If that's Granite Garver I worked there with him for ESI from the mid 80's until he left, not sure when. But if I remember right, Seattle is where he went from Castle. I'm sorry to hear that about him. He was a high energy person to put lightly, it's a shame to hear that happened to him.
