I can say I have worked at 6 different shops under 9 different companies (due to contracts) and feel I have worked with some of the best in our business. bump:

Which sim shops do you think are the best from your experience? You never named them.

Charleston AFB - C124C Sim Shop 64 - 68 I was low man on the pole for all 4 years and enjoyed the equipment and people - even the one who tried to straighten me out. After that right where I'm at now, that's 42 years and alot of sims and techs.

I would have to vote for Cannon AFB, 76-80, F111Ds. We had a great crew, worked well together and partied even better. I have not come across a better bunch since I got out in 80.

I see where this is going. Is this the best sim shops of all time or the best sim shops now. We should clarify this now and possibly split it into two forum subjects.

F4 (D's and E's) sim shop, Luke AFB, 75-80. Wasn't that happy about the desert but the shop and techs were great, several of whom I've had the pleasure to work with again. Some are still in the business.

No, this is Pat Smith. I was back on the E models by the time you got there. Luke was also my first base out of Chanute (6/74 - 2/75) and the only base I was at on active duty ('2/75- 4/'80).

Hey Pat, this is Frank. I remember going to your wedding. The last I heard you were at Tinker. Yeah, that was a good shop.

Hey Frank, Long time no hear! Yea, I was at Tinker until 2001 when I got a call from FlightSafety to come and work as a Maintenacne Instructor. Been here in Broken Arrow every since and no plans to go elsewhere. Best job in the sim world. No day in and day out of regular maintenance and get to get my hands on the lastest technologies, from FSI anyway. Travel the world and every now and then get to see some old friends. I used to see Gary Russell every now and then and Mike McDonell and I still fish together whenever we can. Bill Nunn in with FSI in Tucson. Worked with Carl Johnson for several years at Barksdale. Of course Andy was there, as well. Got re-married last October to a girl from Jr High I always had a "crush" on. Life is good. How about you?

Is this the same Bill Nunn whose VW floated downstream in one of Phoenix's infamous flashflooding arroyos back in the early 70's.
I was at Luke from 73 to 74 on the E model that belonged to Smsgt Van Dusen.
It was a great place to work as we had 6 hour shifts when I first got there, later we went back to the old 8 hour shift, with BX breaks of course.
Good people and beer breaks after work. What more could you ask for?

If I remember it right it was Bill's car that went down the river. Working with Van was great.I was there from 73 to 77. I remember somebody doing a wheelie with their bike in the hallway outside the break room. Had to replace a few tiles.
