You need to add Linux and Windows to that list. Hardware is not what it used to be. I am working on a new sim that is amazingly lacking hardware. It is almost as though our jobs may soon go away.

The industry doesn't 'change' sim techs.bump:
It just uses them up & disposes of the remains with the rest of the trash.

Not real close, but our neighbors Pulau Electronics down here at Fort Rucker,Alabama, hire immigrant goat farmers as techs and a hotel night clerk as a supervisor, so you might not have too much of a problem with getting on with them. So, you might also try them.

Well if you want a REEEEEEAAAAAAALLLLY LOOOOOOONNNNNNNG commute, you can always apply in the Northwest. The only real difference is that the old folk up here don't tan as good as the Floridians. Surfing sucks too.

:winkie: If i got on with Nascar then id also be able to travel, unless they make me stationary at Daytona USA, but of course I would rather be on the traveling team. At least i know a lot of people there maybe i can get some strings pulled, they know how i work so that should not be a problem.

Try looking in hte Orlando area. There are a lot of sim companies that would like to hire new sim engineers with a hardware background. Try:
LMCO, BAE, NLX and/or Rockwell Collins, Link, DEI Corporation, tc

Simcom Orlando has had a job posting up since October last year. I know they pay well. They are just undermanned like everyone else who isn't tied to a scheduled airline.

Guess you forgot the part where I have been a sim tech since 1992 as well or that I was a site manager before moving here. They say memory is the first thing to go when you get up there in age. huh4:
Pretty cheap shot to take on me nutkick: but thats all right burnout:
