I heard talk that PanAm is being bought out by a company called American Capitol (http://www.americancapital.com/).
Anyone else know anything of this rumor?

Yea someone else on this board mentioned it.
The current investor took out so many bucks the company was operating on a shoestring. Was makin a tidy profit to boot. Got his money back many times over.

Pan Am employee's past and present are still a part of this forum and probably do give a good GD irregardless of how and why they are still there or have left. nono:
Besides, American Capitol also controls Gibson Guitar Corp. as a "bluesman" you should be hope that the investors of Gibson have a clue as to what makes money and what doesn't

There are different parts to PanAm. Is it all or some? Also SimCom is part of that company, but it sounds like they are not involved.

No doubt PAIFA employees at all stations are nervously wondering if their jobs are in jeopardy.
I wish them all the best.

I found out that it is just PanAm Commercial that has been bought by American Capitol. If anyone in PanAm knows what is going to happen at or to any sites let us know.

The only site that I know that will be affected is at Dulles. Its closing. They are moving two of the sims to Orlando(old Lockeed sim building). Also Simpro in Vegas is under the new umbrella. All other sites will remain as they are as far as I know. The only jobs lost will be at Dulles(I Hope).

I apologize for my comment. I know some folks at PanAm and I feel for them. The company, however, I don't care for.

Rumor has it that some of the folks at SimPro have already been giving their walking paper? Any true in the rumor?
Didn't SimPro just open a couple of years ago ?

Simcom is going on as they were before PAIFA (Corporate Aviation). As for PIAFA some sites will be expanding, seems this company wants to invest some money into PAIFA, good for these sites. Dulles was just too expensive to operate and no one seemed too want too live there. As for Simpro it was a sweet thang that turned sour.

Glad too see PAIFA may survive. Probaly not the same as in the olden days, prior to JW Childs. Maybe now the dirts bays at Memphis might get filled. Had a great time racing the riding mower in a made up in door dirt track. innocent:
