Babcock wishes to appoint a Technician to become part of the Nimrod Simulator Maintenance Team based at RAF Kinloss.
We are looking for an individual who will be flexible, innovative and resourceful in their approach to working in this highly specialised maintenance contract with the MoD. The successful candidate will be part of a team responsible for all aspects of maintenance including Servicing, Scheduled Maintenance and Fault Diagnosis. The role would include elements of supervisory activity and the individuals would be expected to innovative in approaching technical issues and the day to day problems.
The equipment is complex and provides a variety of work opportunities. The contract works a 3-shift system to cover the 24-hour operation of the simulator. The candidate would also be required to assist in any other activities needed to fulfil the requirements of the contract.
The position is both varied and demanding, operating at close quarters with the customer. The ability to fulfil and meet the customer needs is essential.
The ideal candidate will have the following competence and experience.
Knowledge
* An electronic based background.
* Educated to BTEC/ONC level desirable
Experience
* A current knowledge of simulation techniques.
* Experienced in fault diagnosis on basic electrical & mechanical systems.
* Computer hardware & operating systems.
Skills
* Ability to work as a team player, work under pressure and achieve deadlines.
* Articulate in oral and written communication.
* Full Driving Licence
Attitude
* A willingness to learn, customer focused, quality orientated.
* Flexible, enthusiastic and a disciplined team player.
