just to give authenticity to your poster, this is a reproduction with updated captions for current events, as this poster was actually distributed by our gov't and displayed in veterans hospitals, VFW halls and American legion halls during and after WWII. I have actually seen the original poster in a veterans orginization i belonged to after active service that i won't identify, as there is no wrong doing on their part, and the poster(s) looked like this except had the original text. there were dozens and dozens of WWI and WWII and Viet Nam era posters from everything from blue star and gold star family posters to u.s. .war bonds to being a official war stamps office to post war posters for most everything our patriots coming home would need. there were even civilian defense posters and cold war stuff like instructions on what to do after the nuc warnings(?) went off . very impresive art, weird feeling going through them and realizing what the generations before went through to free the world. makes my cold war service seem pretty cushy compared to what they went through "over there" and here at home. very humbling.
speaking of humbling, spent many occasions talking to a retired navy Capt.(O5) who, as a Ltjg, was the one who, during hostile fire and bombing dec 7th, '41, saved several ship mates as he made his way from topside to the engine control room and beached the USS NEVADA battleship to clear the exit from ford island/ pearl harbor so able ships could get out of the channel and avoid further damage. if he had not done so, the NEVADA was sinking in the middle of the channel and all ships in port would have been trapped.
this was a very special gift to me, and i have to say, "Capt., Fair winds, and following sea's" as the sea has called him home.
