QUALIFICATIONS:
? University or Technical college diploma in computer science, or at least 5 years of related experience.
? Highly customer-oriented.
? Ability to handle sensitive situations with tact.
? Thorough understanding of aircraft terminology or simulation devices.
? Advanced understanding of aviation training business.
? Able to interpret schematics and other technical documents pertaining to aviation.
? Advanced computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office.
? Excellent knowledge of English, read, spoken and written.
? Strong communication skills.
? Strong troubleshooting skills and in-depth knowledge of operating electronic testing equipment and advanced software diagnostic utilities.
? Able to read, interpret and understand QTG.
? In-depth knowledge of the Quality Management System; compliance with its requirements.
? In-depth knowledge of at least one of the following operating systems: Unix, Linux, Windows NT, AIX.
? In-depth knowledge of software languages C and FORTRAN and ability to write code.
? In-depth software knowledge of avionics systems.
? In-depth software knowledge of simulator visual systems.
? In-depth knowledge of computer networking.
? In-depth knowledge of local and international regulations (FAA and JAA) as they pertain to flight training devices, with demonstrated experience.

POSITION PROFILE:
? Performs daily software and configuration management maintenance, to achieve required availability and reliability on multiple flight training devices.
? Meets a set of technical measurement criteria for simulator performance (reporting metrics), e.g. down time, lost time, etc.
? Works rotating shifts and rotating weekends.
? Briefs and debriefs customers regularly. May also be required to answer airline customers? technical questions.
? Provides technical advice to customers and may conduct meetings with customers and/or regulatory agencies.
? Maintains an excellent relationship with regulatory agencies.
? Recommends and develops new procedures for testing, maintenance and repairs.
? Ensures that all technical information in the organization is disseminated to co-workers.
? Interacts with subject matter experts in Montreal, Canada and Cascina Costa, Italy to help resolve open issues on training devices.
? Debugs and troubleshoots complex software problems originating in the flight training devices or the facility and asist on the debug and troubleshooting of hardware.
? Debugs and troubleshoots complex problems spanning a wide range of technologies, including, but not limited to: Strive software and, visual software systems.
? Maintains proper configuration control of all training devices.
? Assists as necessary in simulator testing using flight-testing documentation such as Agusta Production Test Guide or other CAE and/or OEM testing documents.
