To all Ex-Lossie Sim techs
It has been known for some time that there is asbestos within the 'fabric' of the old Sim buildings here at Lossie and this is currently being removed by specialist contractor.
Any person who was employed within the simulator building and think they may have had exposure to the asbestos or want a formal record lodged should send the Station Health and Safety Officer, Mr Frank Cascarino their details. This should include Name, Service Number (or a unique identifier), contact address and the dates of their serving at Sim Flt, Lossie.

You should be able to ask the question of their SHSO, if not give the place a call and ask to speak to the Eng Manager (01637 879815 Sea King Sim, Admin) they might be able to help.huh4:

aye!! More like you're broke from blasting up and down (traffic permitting) the Expressway from Broward in your flatbed running the aircon at full. hothead: hehe..
But seriously, the stuff was everywhere, back in the days when they used to sell Uranium cookware, so that food cooked quicker... screwy: I'm still trying to get my High Tone Hearing Loss compensation from all the hours spent in the Hydraulics room and at the back end of jet engines standing out on the line on mindless exercises without ear protection. Ef'in crazy.. Oh and then there was ... oh never mind...

Cheers Dennis.

i remember the navy giving out those cheap nurse mask's while we sat in tech school while they ripped out the asbestos pipe wrap for 6 months and at the end of school before we marched to chow, the class leader gave every other squid a clothes brush from the 40's and we took turns brushing down our dress blues before evening chow.

Well, most the sim guys I knew, drove flats and never even used them for anything but to drive to the Sim and back home and they were getting paid far less than me. Geez, it must have been crippling with the gas prices going to the moon and the commutes longer as people moved further away from Miami. Dump the SUV's and Flat Bed's people - get a life or car pool.
Yeah, I can't make up my mind on my Avatar, I thought I'd try a new one out every week til I feel comfortable with one eeeek:. Though I do like this new one.. and who here is innocent... hahahackhack..
