View Full Version : Show us your sim shop!
There's a couple of sites that you can see actual images of an address. The ones that I have found so far are:
http://maps.google.com/
and
http://local.live.com/ (type in address or zero in on it. Then click bird's eye. To get the actual web link select permalink)
Update: Not all images will have the Bird's Eye option... but if you come across one that does you can change the viewing angles by selecting the N S E W links.
The local.live site has the best resolution... how about we all look up where our shops are at and post the links?

Here is our link. Don't know why, but you have to zoom out a couple of times (reduce scale) to get the thing to come up.

How old is that picture? I've never seen that parking lot to the West so full. Must be before my time. Guess that's why they call me young'n.

Someone said that it was once a Walleye breeding pond years ago. I guess that was before our elevator blew it's pipe and dumped several hundred gallons into who knows where. Now it's just a breeding pond for mosquitoes and mutant snapper turtles.

Located at the Silverbell Army Heliport, Marana, AZ
The two large white buildings are both sim shops. The one on the right houses 2 AH64A CMSs and the one of the left has the brand new UH60 and 2 CWEPT trainers (CWEPT is a part task Apache trainer) And of course, the most important building is the one just north of a line between the two where the chow hall is located

I was looking at your images of Barksdale and noticed a couple of points of interest.
8th Air Force has fire damage (I guess that makes the photo from 2002?)

When I was there on the KC-135 mobile it was 2nd. Air Force. Can't remember where it was parked, but it is hard to recon from the aerial images. Spent lots of time in eh “Little Hanger” bar outside the base. lookaroun

First time I saw James Brown was in some sleazy joint out on the so-called "strip." Can remember a half-inch of water on the floor after a big rain but that didn't slow us down. He was a skinny kid then and moved like a wild man. The mob bosses who ran the joint would not alow us whities to shake his hand. I always thouhgt they were "liberals." nutkick:
The "Little Hanger" owner was a huge Italian-American dude, really a buddy of the mobile sim gang, but we knew he was "made" because he took a cut from the "special" pinball machines. Can't remember where it was exactly but it was not far from the front gate. He always had some wild bar maids there too. Nice place for mob ties lookaroun
For the life of me, I cannot remember the mobile was parked. While at Bergstrom we parked the B-52 there, replacing Castle's maybe, and later on our Carswell KC-135 was i nthe same place -- but still can't remember where. Oh well, CRS taking its toll. mecry:
